Tips to buy a Bikini

Step1
When you're selecting a bikini, be absolutely certain that the bottoms fit. You'd think such a thing is obvious, but on your next beach outing, take a gander at all the love-handle spillage. It's not a pretty sight, but it's even true of lovely, fit girls. Don't let your desire to be a size 4 ruin how you actually fill out your suit. If you are a size 6 (or 8 or 10) embrace it!

Step2
Now, for the tops. There are hundreds of shapes and ways to keep our collective heaving bosoms in check, but if you're not well endowed, try a top which enhances your smaller bust. You lucky girls can choose a bandeau top, and try one with a pattern. Bold prints and texture give the illusion of a larger bust line, so flaunt it.

Step3
Perhaps you have the opposite issue? An ample chest just loves a halter. With a sleek, wide-strapped halter top you can hoist and lift. It's also wildly liberating not having to worry about the "girls" falling out every time you dive in the water.

Step4
Short legs? My every apology, but low-cut boy shorts will simply never work for you. If you, too, are shaped like a corgi or dachshund, always look for a higher-cut leg. It is possible to find something both low-rise and high-legged, but it ain't easy.

Step5
Another key point: Even if you totally know your body, please, always try on your bikinis. I mean, don't be gross--keep the underwear on--but in order to really judge the amount of bottom it covers or how much leg it reveals, you must try it on.

Step6
Although it's a little cliche, it's true that you must really love your little bikini and feel comfortable in it. If it makes you happy, it will lessen the horror of throwing your near-naked body around for the world to see.
